Albert
is a mouse who lives behind the skirting board in the living room.
He likes to venture out and is often found in the back garden. Unfortunately his enemy, the
Fearsome Cat, lives in the kitchen.
There are four ways of using Albert's House. |
Look
round Albert's House
This is the simplest level. By clicking on the direction arrows you can go from room to room
and see what you can find. You can open the doors in the kitchen and see what sounds the cat
makes.
There are lots of animations and you never know quite what will happen!
Now try changing the program to Level Two. See if you can find the three extra rooms. |
Explore
Once you use the program in Explore mode, much more information is available.
Anything you click on will bring up a label. Click on the label and it will be spoken.
The clocks will show and tell the correct time (as long as your computer is on time!). |
Hide
and find Albert
In this activity one person goes into the house and decides where to hide Albert. Then someone
else comes along and tries to find him. Don't worry, there is some help once you're in
the correct room, you'll see a hot/cold bar which will enable you to pinpoint the mouse more
easily.
Find Albert lets you play this game on your own. The computer hides Albert and you have
to find him. |
Save
Albert
This is an activity which can be done individually, in groups or by the whole class,
led by the teacher. Albert is stuck in the back garden and can't return to his mouse hole because
of the cat in the kitchen. You must find his KatKit and take it to him. As his KatKit is in the
mouse hole (remember?) you will need to make yourself very small. Perhaps the magic cookies will
help where are they? |
Off
you go and make sure you start on Level One! |
